Here at NY Electric Trains we believe that the most important of the buying experience is accurately describing the condition of the items that we sell.  When describing product condition we have adopted a grading policy from the TCA's universal system.  For all Vintage product Prewar and Postwar era items we will solely use the TCA grading standard.  For Modern product we use our own derivation of the grading system with four conditions that are listed below.

New In Box (NIB) - The item has been removed from the packaging only to take pictures.  In some cases the item has never been removed from the box because the item is sealed in the box.  To not disturb the items condition it has been left sealed in the box.  If a new in box item is purchased and is going to be used, please request that NY Electric Trains services and tests the item before it ships.  We will not accept returns on New In Box items if they were not tested before they were shipped.

Like New (LN) - The item is in Like New condition.  It has little run time with slight wear.  There is no damage present and all surfaces and paint is super clean and bright.  All functions of the item have been tested and work as factory new.  Please inspect all of the pictures especially the bottom side picture to see the wear on the wheels showing little run time.

Excellent (EX) - The item is in excellent conditions.  In some cases there might be some minor imperfections such as paint chips or scratches.  Usually this damage is easily tolerated by an operator and collection.  All functions of the item have been tested and work as factory new.  Please inspect all of the pictures especially the bottom side picture to see the wear on the wheels showing little run time.  The pictures will show all of the areas of interest for condition.

Rehab Resto - The item is sold as is in the pictures.  Do not expect the item to function properly without repair, replacement parts and or refinishing.  Item can be physically. mechanically and electronically damaged 

Note:  NIB and LN grading by default means the original packaging is included.  If the original packaging is not included the grading will be denoted with the phrase "No Box" added to the description.  Packaging material in the EX condition must be shown in the pictures or assume it is not provided.
